TERMS & CONDITIONS ESS LA TZOUMAZ-SAVOLEYRES :
BOOKINGS
A booking for a ski lesson is only valid if it has been paid for before the start of the lesson. If this is not the case, the lesson cannot be given and will not be reimbursed.
PRICES
All prices are in Swiss francs and include all taxes.
MODIFYING OR CANCELLING A BOOKING
Bookings may be changed or cancelled up to 1 week before the start of the course, free of charge.
For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start of the course, the full amount is due. Changes will be made as far as possible, but no refund or postponement will be given in the event of a reduction in the course.
For cancellations made between 1 week and 24 hours before the start of the course, 50% of the fee is due. Changes will be made as far as possible, but no refund or postponement will be given in the event of a reduction in the number of lessons.
Lessons take place in all weathers and are held regardless of the weather. Bad weather does not entitle you to a refund or postponement of the lesson. If all the ski lifts in the 4 Vallées area are closed, the course may be refunded or postponed.
If the participant has a medical certificate from a doctor attesting to their incapacity, the lesson can be refunded or postponed.
THE SKI PASS
The ski pass is not included in the lesson price. They can be purchased at the Téléverbier ticket offices or online. Participants in ski lessons must be in possession of their ski pass before the start of the lesson.
THE EQUIPMENT
Ski, snowboard and protective equipment is not included in the price of the lessons. It must be brought by the participant. The ski school accepts no responsibility for inappropriate and/or incorrectly adjusted equipment. In the event of inappropriate, defective or unusable equipment, the instructor has the right not to give the lesson if he/she considers that the equipment could be harmful to the participant. In this case, the lesson cannot be refunded or moved.
GROUP LESSONS
Lessons last 3 hours. This includes travel, waiting time at the ski lifts and any delays by participants. However, the instructor is not obliged to wait for latecomers.
We set the minimum number of participants at 3. If there are fewer than 3 participants per course, an alternative solution will be proposed. If the alternative solution is not accepted, no refund or postponement will be granted. We reserve the right, for example, to group several levels together or to reduce the number of lesson hours.
We limit our group lessons to 8 students per class. In the following cases, this limit may be exceeded.
- Enrolment in the wrong level
- Some students progress too quickly or too slowly.
If the group exceeds 8 students, an evo assistant will be present with the main instructor to ensure the safety and learning of all participants in the group.
THE INSTRUCTOR’S LIABILITY
Mountain sports are high-risk sports practised in an environment where natural conditions can be more or less unpredictable and dangerous. Students must ensure their own safety and that of others by following the safety instructions given by their instructor.
The instructor has an obligation of means, but not of results. Students are also responsible for their own equipment.
Wherever possible, the instructor will speak the student’s preferred language, but this is not guaranteed. In this case, we guarantee that our instructors speak at least French and English.
ACCIDENT AND INSURANCE
ESS accepts no responsibility for accidents. Each participant must have their own insurance or take out insurance at our ticket office.
You can take out insurance for CHF 6 per day.
The following cover is available:
- Refund of ski pass
- Reimbursement of ski lessons
- Reimbursement of ski equipment hire

If you do not take out this insurance, we will under no circumstances make any reimbursement.
